I realised the other day that I’ve forgotten the hotel part in my Hamburg series! Well, I better change that ;-). The last two times we visited Hamburg with our daughter we stayed once at the Superbude in St. Georg and once at 25hours Hotel Hafencity.
I liked them both, Superbude is a bit more relaxed, you can even bring your own food or order a pizza to eat in the lounge area! Nice idea when tired from sightseeing or to have a dinner a deux while the little one is sleeping in the room. The only ‘disadvantage’ when travelling with kids are the jars of sweets in the lounge area – better to avoid them in the morning ;-). The location is right in the Schanzenviertel, so lots of nice shops, restaurants and coffee shops close by.
If you want to get maritime through and through the Hafencity will do just that. In addition to entertaining your little ones with bobby cars in the lounge area and providing yummy food in the restaurant / bar. Some of the rooms can be a bit small, so if you want to add a cot or third bed it’s better to advise it on time.
