I like to go shopping when I’m in a foreign city, but with children it isn’t always easy. Two of the easiest things to buy with children in Antwerp, Belgium are pralines and cookies. Ok, you have to survive the sugar rush, but if you eat more then them it’s doable ;-). In the Korte Gasthuisstraat you find several chocolatiers, my choice were Burie for pralines and Philip’s Biscuit for cookies. Well, the fine tuned and sophisticated version of cookies.

If you now want to loose at least some of the calories you just added, then head to In den Olifant at Leopoldstraat 23. It’s close by, so that won’t do the deal, but it will take all your energy to get your kids to leave this amazing toy store again ;-).

Dutch label Sissy-Boy has a store at Nationalestraat 36 and you’ll find women, men and children clothes, homeware and a little play area, so you have time to browse. Concept store Your Antwerp also offers clothes for women, men and children, but don’t go their with a sleeping baby – the music is more like in bar or club, less relaxed/boring background music.
